raisingmspresidentRaising Ms. President Screening to Raise Funds for Friends of Theatre
A film to inform girls all over the world to go for their dreams and view themselves as leaders! trailer

                                                     Thursday, September 25, 2014 @ 7pm

Raising Ms. President is about raising the next generation of female political leaders. Studies show that when more women are at the political decision-making table, they make an important difference. The problem is, women just don’t want to run for public office. Most young women don’t see politics as a viable option when deciding their career path.

This 60-minute documentary explores some of the reasons women don’t run for office, and uncovers where political ambition begins. The film was written and directed by Lexington native Kiley Lane Parker. “I’m excited to finally be bringing Raising Ms. President to Lexington. It is so important to encourage women to see themselves as leaders and in the case of this film, as our political leaders,” Parker said. “The United States ranks right in the middle when it comes to female political leadership. I truly believe that we can improve this number by 2020, and that with more women at the decision-making table, there will be better outcomes for us all.”

Who:    Director, Kiley Lane Parker will be joined by a Panel of Powerhouse Women ready to encourage and inspire the audience to reach for the stars.  Partners include Friends of the Kentucky, Lexington Film League, IF University and ParkerLane LLC.
